The Syracuse University Department of Drama seeks to hire a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor for its Musical Theatre Program. Professional experience and college level teaching experience are preferred. Specializations may include musical theatre dance, musical theatre performance, and musical theatre history. Successful candidates will enhance the department's capacity both to honor and to cultivate the contributions of those communities that have historically been under-represented or underserved in theater training and/or the profession. The department is committed to the development of a curriculum that responds effectively to the artistic needs of an ever-changing profession, and that prepares a diverse array of students to assume leadership roles. The position will teach a variety of courses at all levels as assigned by the Chair and based upon expertise. Additionally, the position may direct or choreograph, depending upon expertise, for department productions. This position begins in August 2022.
