This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career. The Impact You'll Make in this Role The Communications Producer will counsel marketing and communications clients and corporate executives in the use of effective methods for high-profile and strategic communications for internal and external audiences. She/he will manage all production aspects of the project so should be well-versed in corporate communications, marketing, sales and employee communication trends, styles, and media choices.
As a Communications Producer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: - Evaluating and interpreting project and content objectives and requirements.
- Analyzing the audience and articulating the project objectives.
- Recommending the most effective communication method/tool.
- Produce internal and external video-based communications.
- Planning and directing production activities.
- Establishing and monitoring the production schedule and budget.
- Negotiating and resolving issues in program content or creative direction.
- Adhering to brand, trademark usage, ADA compliance and copyright.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the project.
- Developing programs to educate clients, associate producers, Media Solutions technicians, and contract producers on the communication and production elements of different types of video programming.
- Staying current with evolving client's needs, possibilities, and considerations of media communication technologies.
- Willingness to be on-call & meet project deadlines.
As a Communications Producer, you will provide consulting, photojournalism, and video storytelling producer services for Levels 1, 2, and 3 video-based, communications projects: Levels 1 and 2 Projects Extensive concept and scripting development, actors, original music and custom graphics or animation.
Levels 3 and 4 Projects
These are mid-level productions that may be intended for internal or external audiences. The video quality is broadcast quality, but the project will not include most aspects of a Level 1 or 2 production. Generally, includes either studio or location shooting, editing, simple scripting, Voice-Over recording, and the use of pre-produced music.
Level 5 Projects
These are low-end productions that are usually user generated content and intended for internal viewing only. Maybe screen captures or shot with a mobile device, little or no editing, without music, and generally created to share information.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or higher in Communication or Liberal Arts degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years of media production experience is normally required.
- Understand employee and marketing communication fundamentals.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: - Demonstrate strong written and verbal communications, team, and project management skills.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Demonstrate an ability to quickly learn Media Solutions facilities and services such Teams Live, O365, MS Stream, asset management systems, Adobe Creative Cloud, media support for executives, digital file formats, Internet applications and streaming infrastructure.
