Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, located in the heart of East Cobb, is seeking a flexible part-time Lower School Music teacher for students in JK -4th grade to foster and facilitate the intellectual, spiritual, and social development of our students. This position, when combined with a MS Drama/Musical role, could be full time. The desirable candidate will use his/her faith and Biblical knowledge to create an enthusiastic learning environment that keeps students actively engaged in the learning process.
The position has the following responsibilities:
Teach a developmentally appropriate music class once a week to approximately 18 classes – 3 at each grade level
Use the Lower School Music Curriculum Map to guide instruction throughout the year, providing opportunities for students to learn the fundamental elements of music and develop musical appreciation and creativity.
Encourage and promote the coordination of music with other subject areas in the curriculum.
Plan performances within the school year: Grandparents’ Day (various grades), Veteran’s Day (4th and 5th), Christmas (JK-5th or as agreed upon with LS Head), and Night of the Arts (3rd-5th) in the Spring semester. A musical may be presented at Christmas or for the Night of the Arts program.
For an additional stipend, the Music Teacher is encouraged to form and conduct the Eagle Choir, an extra-curricular performance ensemble. This group would perform at various events and venues during the school day or occasionally after school. This is not mandatory but is a nice after school offering.

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field from fully accredited college required
Valid teaching certification in Georgia is preferred, but not required
