School: Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department/Area: Theater, Dance & Media Position Description: The Committee on Theater, Dance & Media seeks applications for a part-time Professor of the Practice of Musical Theater Writing. The appointment will begin on January 1, 2023. The part-time Professor of the Practice of Musical Theater Writing will teach one course per semester at the undergraduate level. The part-time Professor of the Practice position is a five-year appointment and is renewable contingent upon review. Basic Qualifications: Terminal degree or equivalent experience in Musical Theater Writing and at least five years of professional experience. Additional Qualifications: Familiarity with relevant technologies such as composition software (Sibelius, Finale, LogicPro, Ableton), fluency in the history and theory of musical theater and related forms in any musical/theatrical traditions, and a demonstrated strong commitment to teaching are desired.
