DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE: Teach a variety of introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses in Film/TV: Animation. Some of the courses may include F/TV 66A Basic Techniques of Animation: Stop Motion; F/TV 67A Principles of Animation: 2D Media; F/TV 68A Sound for Animation; F/TV 70A The Storyboard and Visual Development for Animation; F/TV 71G Introduction to 3D Computer Animation: Modeling; F/TV 71H Introduction to 3D Computer Animation: Character Motion; F/TV 72GHJ Animated Film Pre-Production, Production, Post-Production Workshops; and Animation studies courses, F/TV 75G History of Animation (1900-Present) and F/TV 75K Japanese Animation. Provide instruction in Autodesk Suite: Media and Entertainment Collection applications such as Maya, as well as Adobe Creative Suite and related software. In addition to software tools used to create storyboards, 3D models, character animation, and texturing, instructional emphasis should be placed on creating narrative, story-based content. Keep current in the discipline, revise and develop curricula, and design new programs that are sensitive to the needs of a changing student population. Maintain and support the CTE (Career Technical Education) Perkins vocational program with a focus on a two-year professional training model for Animation. Write proposals for funding, oversee facilities and equipment purchases, and develop and monitor budgets for the Animation program within the Film/TV Department. Maintain relevant industry ties and contribute members to the Film/TV Advisory Board. Develop outreach in the community, both professional and academic, to publicize the goals and achievements of the program. Standard duties expected of all faculty include development and evaluation of curricula, maintaining scheduled office hours, attending department and division meetings, pursuing professional growth activities, and performing other duties consistent with the role of an instructor. Instructors also have the opportunity to serve on district and college committees and participate in campus extra-curricular activities. Faculty members also develop, refine, and assess Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs). Classes are conducted on the main De Anza College campus in Cupertino, CA. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
