The Proctor Academy Arts Department seeks a candidate to lead the music program beginning with the 2022-23 academic year. The successful candidate must be deeply aligned with the School’s Mission and committed to its core values as a highly relational boarding-day school that believes in the transformative power of human potential in an extraordinary community of learners and doers. Proctor’s theme and intention “to become the healthiest school possible, understanding, valuing, and connecting the individual to community with compassion, integrity, and growth” will resonate with the successful candidate. The person selected will teach instrumental music and/or vocal music to a variety of group sizes, organize individual lessons for students pursuing various musical interests, and provide a robust music curriculum. The ideal candidate will have the ability and willingness to respond to all students’ needs and teach all levels, attend departmental meetings, and fulfill other duties normally associated with a teaching position (advising, orientation group leader, project period group leader, afternoon program leader, and residential life duties).
