The East Tennessee State University Department of Music is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach applied string bass beginning in the fall 2022 semester. Additional courses may be available depending on the skillset of the individual, including introduction to music or music fundamentals.
East Tennessee State University is a thriving university of just over 15,000 students nestled in the beautiful highland foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The Department of Music is composed of 150 undergraduate students and over thirty faculty. Students may choose to major in performance, music education, composition, contemporary music, musical theatre, or music history.
Salary: $1000 per credit for faculty with a doctorate degree; $900 per credit for faculty with a master's degree.

Qualifications for this position include:
Minimum of earned master's degree in Bass Performance. Doctorate preferred.
Evidence of successful studio teaching at the secondary and/or collegiate level.
Evidence of ongoing performance as a professional musician
A strong desire to build diverse, inclusive, and welcoming learning environments for students
The ability to work with other faculty in a collegial and professional manner
Interest in building relationships with community arts organizations, professional musicians, and other ensembles in the region/state.
