1. Supervises concert production staff including contractors. Oversee staff and student management of ISM musical ensembles, with special attention to Yale Schola Cantorum, Yale Camerata, and their conductors. 2. Hire and supervise casual employees and independent contractors, such as paid performers, accompanists, recording engineers, program note writers, and rehearsal conductors. 3. Manage concert production for ISM ensembles, recitals, and occasional guest artists. Including managing rehearsals, including set-up and strike of concert equipment and performances including front-of-house activities and stage management. 4. Negotiate contracts for professional music performances and concert series, ensuring that contract details and technical riders are fully carried out, including greeting guest artists and overseeing their stays at Yale. 5. Directly manage Yale Schola Cantorum including managing the preparation, dissemination, and collection of musical scores and parts, and national/ international tours. 6. Coordinate travel for ISM ensembles and guest artists. Hire and supervise orchestras to accompany ISM choral ensembles. 7. Manage portable ISM musical instruments (e.g., evaluate and purchase instruments as needed; schedule regular and special tunings of keyboard instruments; schedule and coordinate moves of large instruments between venues). 8. Manage all recording projects, both commercial and archival, including ensuring that streaming and other digital dissemination have proper rights clearances and management of performer media releases for all recording projects. 9. Manage audio and visual recording of ISM concerts with multiple vendors. 10. In consultation with ISM faculty, schedule performance-oriented classes; ensuring that performance-oriented classes have appropriate rooms and equipment. Provide administrative support for departmental seminars (e.g., guest artist payroll). 11. Coordinate the details of guest-artist residency projects with ISM faculty including creation of detailed itineraries for guest artists and faculty conductors. 12. Prepare schedule and materials for ISM music student orientation events. 13. Schedule and coordinate ISM choral ensemble auditions. 14. Facilitate long-term artistic planning with ISM music faculty, advising faculty on concert production feasibility during planning process. Guide faculty from big-picture artistic planning to practical, detailed production planning providing faculty with detailed project plans for each academic year. 15. In consultation with ISM director and lead administrator, prepare budgets for all programs and provide oversight for all expenditures. 16. Manage the Concert Office production calendar. Coordinate the scheduling of concerts with internal and external calendars across the University. Schedule and manage end-of-term performances. Schedule and coordinate concert production needs for all ISM student recitals. 17. Manage ISM choral library and its online catalogue. 18. Collaborate with the ISM media office on promotion and advertising. Oversee content creation of concert program booklets. 19. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Work hours may vary depending on the schedule of events. Preferred Education: 5+ years of arts administration experience with a focus on concert production/operations. Bachelors degree in Music or related area with a minimum of five years of work experience as a choral musician, church musician, and/or arts administrator, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience in early music, orchestra management, and concert production is highly desired.
