The Chemistry Department in the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Southern Oregon University (
SOU) invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month, Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry position. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading organic chemistry lectures and labs for both majors and non-majors, and will also have an opportunity to contribute to general chemistry, biochemistry, and/or general education courses.
The Chemistry Department values supportive interactions with students and the successful candidate should demonstrate the desire to teach, advise, and sustain a vibrant research program with undergraduates with diverse backgrounds. Scholarly activities may include research in the scholarship of discovery, synthesis, application, or teaching. Our program is well-equipped with a 400 MHz FT-

Other responsibilities include department and university service, curriculum development, professional affiliations as appropriate, and other responsibilities as assigned. The successful candidate will ideally have a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field. Postdoctoral experience and/or college level teaching experience is highly desirable.
