The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 170 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Registrar, EM Communications, and Research & Analytics. This position will be part of the centralized team within the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships that will be independently responsible for awarding state and institutional scholarships and ensuring that these awards meet all applicable regulations. Incumbents in this position are expected to have a high level of technical knowledge and expertise in federal and state regulations as well as institutional policies, and will make independent judgments and decisions. The position will serve as an advanced level of support to students who have in-depth questions or issues regarding their scholarship eligibility. The incumbent will serve as "expert" level assistance for students who are referred from the One Stop. Coordinate and award student scholarships that are part of the university-wide scholarship programs at UT, including but not limited to institutionally-funded, private endowed, and non-endowed awards. Award institutional scholarships to prospective and current students. Disseminate scholarship information to students and parents. Counsel students and parents regarding the UT scholarship eligibility and renewal requirements. Assists prospective, newly admitted, and currently enrolled students who have limited resources in financing their education. Serve as a point of contact for UT colleges and various departments about university and/or endowed scholarships and Scholarship Manager. Award and renew UT scholarship for recipients who continue to meet scholarship criteria. Administer Federal, State, and University financial aid programs within guidelines of all programs and entities. Voting member numerous scholarship selection committees. Voting member on the Institutional Scholarship Appeals Committee. The Scholarship Counselor will be required to participate in recruiting events, including presentations regarding information about scholarship and other financial aid opportunities. Work with the Reconciliation Coordinator to ensure funds for scholarship accounts are reconciled monthly and annually. Mentor full-time scholarship support staff and supervises scholarships federal work study employees. Assists in coordination of day to day operation of the scholarship's division based on priorities outlined by the Assistant Director of Scholarships.
