Position description The Physical Education Program at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applicants for non-tenure track lecturer positions.
Successful candidates will teach physical activity courses at elementary through advanced levels in physical education, in the following subject areas:
Fitness: Triathlon, Cycling
Martial Arts: Tai Chi, Karate, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Jujitsu
Sports: Golf, Archery, Fencing, Soccer
Watercraft (SUP, kayak, canoe, sailing)
Dance: Flamenco, Hip-Hop, Ballet, Tap
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties may include: holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g. syllabus), creating and grading exams, and using a learning management system (e.g. bCourses) and/or maintaining a course website.
UC Lecturers are academic appointees in an organized bargaining unit and are exclusively represented by American Federation of Teachers - Unit 18. QualificationsBasic qualifications (required at time of application) Bachelor's degree (or equivalent international degree). Additional qualifications (required at time of start) At least one year prior teaching experience. Preferred qualifications At least one year prior experience teaching one or more of the listed subjects at the adult or college level.
