Northwestern College invites applications for a full-time faculty position (open rank, tenure track) in theatre to begin August 2022. We seek a collaborative artist, trained in the areas of acting and directing with a passionate interest in teaching and pursuing artistic scholarship in these areas. Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate holds a terminal degree in acting or directing. Candidates will exhibit a love of Christ, an embrace of the Gospel and support the college’s mission as expressed in our Statement of Christian Identity, Vision for Learning and Vision for Diversity. Northwestern College is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America. We seek faculty invested in teaching, a program of scholarly activity, and the mission of excellence in the liberal arts as a vital expression of commitment to Christ’s redemptive work in the world.
Preferred Qualifications: Our new co-artist can expect to direct in our season and teach courses primarily in the areas of acting and directing. Dependent upon the candidate’s areas of interest, other courses may include dramatic literature, first year seminar, senior seminar, playwriting, film aesthetics and criticism, or courses in our worship arts major. Our program also allows for the option and opportunity to act periodically in our productions.
