Known for its presentation of a wide variety of events from the latest popular concerts and Broadway attractions to university ceremonies and conference events, IU Auditorium is a 3,200 seat proscenium venue that has been a model of campus and community programming and engagement since it opened in 1941. We are excited to bring into our Auditorium family a dynamic team member who can uphold our reputation of providing expert and professional production management, serving and engaging with a diverse array of artists, tours, and rental clients. Though this position will be housed within IU Auditorium, it’s primary responsibilities will be supporting our regional campus venues described below.
IUPUI is the managing entity to the historic, but newly renovated Madam Walker Theatre in the heart of Indianapolis. This 800+ seat venue recently underwent a several million-dollar renovation to restore the rich history of the theatre. In partnership with IUPUI and the Madam Walker Legacy Foundation, Madam Walker Theatre is managed by IUPUI for professional, academic, and community events.
Located in New Albany, Indiana, IU Southeast is home to the Ogle Center and is comprised of the Robinson Theater, Stem Concert Hall, and Stiefler Recital Hall. These spaces are used as both a community gathering place hosting professional concerts and events throughout their season, as well as academic performance and showcases for the IU Southeast campus
Department Specific Responsibilities:
Develops and implements ticketing service strategies
Demonstrates best practices for all ticketed events including Broadway, concerts, celebrity artists, and international dignitaries.
Builds manifests, ticket types, discount codes, house scaling, and subscription bundles.
Management of sales, inventory, promotions, and discounts.
Ensures event is in good standing to pass responsibility to venue for day-of management.
Independently initiates advertising/sales agreements with clients, applying volume or group discounts when appropriate.
Regularly conveys various product/service and/or advertising options to potential customers and answers questions about policies and procedures; acts as a liaison with creative services and production staff when applicable.
Creates advertising/sales plans and recommends cost-savings and revenue-increasing strategies to manager.
Responds to customer inquiries and regularly provides quotes, terms and conditions, and creates contracts.
Resolves complex customer questions and complaints.
Prepares and interprets reports of advertising and sales figures; independently corrects basic and moderately complex issues.
Performs analysis of transactions and accounts against targeted goals and communicates discrepancies to manager.
May provide guidance to lower-level Advertising/Sales Specialists, Advertising/Sales Assistants, or hourly employees.
Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, or a related field
Bachelor's degree in business, non-profit management, arts management, or a related field.
2 years in a relevant field
2 years of ticket office experience or in a position involving sales operations, customer service, and customer/client data tracking and analysis.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Possess a valid driver's license with the abliity to be insured by Indiana University

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus, including multi-level buildings. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
