The Vice President, Programming & Education is responsible for creating, planning, implementing and overseeing the Center’s performance and education programming initiatives and calendar to achieve and exceed annual goals (revenue and attendance). This requires an entrepreneurial spirit in researching and curating programming content to meet diverse and broad programming objectives to fulfill both long and short-range objectives. The VP works closely with key stakeholders (internal and external) to develop programming plans.
The VP is responsible for the cultivation and maintenance of a variety of relationships including local, regional, national and international arts organizations. The Vice President provides leadership and direction to the Programming and Education teams. The Vice President reports to the CEO/President.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in the entertainment industry. include a minimum of 5 years in a senior level position.
Proven knowledge and experience in leadership, strategic planning, operations, financial management, and production of large-scale events with multi-million-dollar budgets.
Demonstrated success in planning and producing outstanding events on time and on budget.
Strong entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to create an effective culture. Strong business sense with the ability to build, communicate and persuasively champion for existing and potential opportunities while establishing and maintaining influential partnerships at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, develop and motivate teams to an ever-increasing level of performance, fostering an inclusive, positive and empowering culture and work environment.
Proven business development, and negotiation experience.
Effective communications skills with the ability to present ideas confidently and persuasively.
Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
