Known for its presentation of a wide variety of events from the latest popular concerts and Broadway attractions to university ceremonies and conference events, IU Auditorium is a 3,200-seat theatre that has been a model of campus and community programming and engagement since it opened in 1941. We are excited to bring into our Auditorium family dynamic guest services team members who will uphold our mission of creating engaging arts and event experiences at IU.
The Part-Time Wardrobe Attendant assists with:
The construction and repair of costumes.
The fitting of cast members for costumes.
General repair and stitching of expensive costumes; assisting cast with costume changes, often very quick; the packing and unpacking of all wardrobes.
All other related duties necessary for the preparation and/or rendition of live event performances.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information.
Ability to recognize a wide range of fabric content for ironing, steaming, and laundry.
The ability to work with various personalities one on one.
Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time. Ability to move about the workplace for long durations of time. Ability to move quickly through a multi-level facility.
Starting hourly rate is $21.80 per hour.
This position is part-time and hours per week vary based on number and type of events on the calendar. Work is scheduled on an as-needed basis with no guarantee of hours every week. Scheduling is per event, per venue, and via IATSE local 893.
