The City of Hampton’s Hampton Coliseum / Hampton Arts Department seeks a seasoned Box Office Manager. The Box Office Manager is responsible for all ticketing operations and activities for the Hampton Coliseum and The American Theatre, located in Hampton, Virginia. This position will perform administrative, general accounting and technical work in the functioning of the office and supervise full-time & part-time employees. Examples of responsibilities: Preparing "house scales" (scales of ticket prices), CAD maps for venues, building events utilizing Ticketmaster’s Host ticketing system. Prepare daily box office reports, balance accounts for ticket, concession, parking, merchandise, and miscellaneous income. Additionally prepare event settlements; order checks/wires for event settlement. Manager responds to public inquiries and complaints concerning ticketing and performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications include bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. Minimum 3 years management experience in an arena, performing arts theater, or stadium box office setting. Requires a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Requires knowledge of bookkeeping, ticket control, and financial management; knowledge of software to include Microsoft Office, Ticketmaster, and AutoCAD. Must possess valid driver’s license with satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria. Eligible to be bonded and successful completion of criminal background check.
