Lawrence University, a nationally ranked private liberal arts university and Conservatory of Music, seeks an accomplished and strategic leader for the inaugural position of Associate Vice President for Enrollment, focusing on retention and persistence. The AVP for Enrollment will join the institution at a critical moment as Lawrence, under new presidential leadership, will strengthen its community, culture, and climate on its goals for the retention and persistence of our students. The AVP for Enrollment provides student-focused leadership and direction in the creation, assessment, and coordination of retention and student success strategies. As Lawrence University strives to become an antiracist institution, recognizing the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion work and its centrality to Lawrence’s identity and mission, several initiatives have been implemented from all levels of the institution – Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and students. Lawrence’s community is passionate and eager so the AVP will join an engaged community poised to do its part in bringing demonstrable and sustainable change. Specifically, the AVP provides leadership, guidance, planning, and implementation of initiatives that foster inclusive excellence and equitable outcomes for all students, with an emphasis on improving retention, graduation, time to degree, and the elimination of the equity gap.
Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment, the AVP provides direction and oversight for various student success initiatives and associated programs and offices on campus, and leverages technology and predictive analytic modeling and tools to supplement data-informed strategies for programs and services. The AVP collaborates with multiple campus offices, constituencies, committees, and departments to develop a shared understanding of current student outcomes. The AVP works to build campus momentum and support for curricular, co-curricular, and administrative strategies that help improve student outcomes, and advance an integrated and comprehensive student success model of which the entire campus is a part.
