The USC School of Dramatic Arts (SDA) seeks an office assistant to manage the daily operations of its front office. This position will greet and assist visitors, answer phones, process mail and provide general information. The position will also perform general secretarial and clerical duties for the office. This role is a 10-month, fixed term position.
Qualified individuals are energetic, highly motivated, and can work well under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment - especially during peak times of the year.Â Reporting to our Executive Assistant to the Dean as well as our Vice-Dean, the individual in this role will handle day-to-day administrative and operational requests.Â The position will serve as an important liaison between the School of Dramatic Arts faculty, staff, students, vendors, and guests.Â
Successful candidates should possess exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail and demonstrate impeccable integrity, responsibility, accountability, and authenticity.Â Along with strong communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness in relationship building and conflict management, the ideal candidate will have clear leadership skills to understand the âbig pictureâ and the need for flexibility, innovation, and resourcefulness to execute work.Â Individuals will display an optimistic outlook, show success in time management, collaborative approaches, thrive in a high change environment, and adapt to emergencies and last-minute adjustments with patience, discretion, and diplomacy.
3 years secretarial and administrative experience in a university environment, preferably USC
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Formstack/Wufoo Forms, Doodle Polling, and other applicable administrative/office tools
Excellent time management and organizational competencies
Communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with diverse populations
Possess self-motivation and complete tasks with minimal supervision
