The Department of Music at Westmont College invites applications for an endowed Chair and senior faculty position with the charge to teach in areas of expertise within the Music Department, provide vision and leadership for the music program including curricular, long-term faculty development and performance domains, work with the Campus Pastor to enhance the worship and spiritual life of the campus, develop relationships with external arts organizations, partner with the Office of Admissions to implement effective recruiting strategies for musicians, and collaborate with the college Office of Advancement to build on the successful history of donor and financial development for the music program. The position may also include the responsibilities of the Department Chair depending on the interests and qualifications of the successful candidate and the will of the Department.
The teaching area(s) may include major ensemble leadership (including choral or orchestral), Opera, Musicology, Liturgics, or an applied area. Successive full-time and adjunct positions will be determined based on the area(s) of expertise brought to this position by the successful candidate.
