Director of Ticketing
Carolina Theatre of Durham, Inc.
| The historic nonprofit Carolina Theatre of Durham is seeking an experienced Box Office Manager. This position supports the theater’s mission by managing the team responsible for the theater’s first contact with guests and donors and in serving our community by bringing a range of artists, films, and educational programs to our region. The Carolina Theatre of Durham, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which manages the City-owned historic Carolina Theatre complex including the 1,000-seat historic Fletcher Hall and two cinemas which screen independent film, as well as festivals and retrospectives, 365 days per year. The organization presents more than 50 Star Series performances per year in Fletcher Hall and provides more than 35 educational performances for more than 15,000 schoolchildren from 12 counties in our Arts Discovery series. Fletcher Hall is also home to a number of performing arts resident companies and hosts a variety of non-profit and commercial events throughout the year. This position manages the overall operations of the Carolina Theatre box office. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in TicketMaster ticketing (including Archtics and Host), customer service, financial reporting, and staff management. Position reports to the Senior Director of Operations. Experience with nonprofit organizations and working with development offices is a plus. The director of ticketing is responsible for the event ticketing builds, setup, maintenance, and management of assigned live events at the Carolina Theatre as well as evaluating and adjusting operating processes and polices. This critical management position requires experience in building shows and maintaining records inside a TicketMaster system; exceptional organizational and customer-service skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure while interfacing with both staff and guests. Core Duties: Build, maintain and modify events in the ticketing system at the direction of Carolina Theatre staff and booking partners, promoters, and rental clients. Work with Live Events, Marketing and promoters to create event pricing, scaling, manifest creation and schedule on-sale dates. Communicate with TicketMaster, clients, and national contacts for VIP and Fan Club programs, to maintain national TicketMaster standards and meet client expectations. Maintain event ticket inventory and placement of all ticket holds and comps for live events. Ensure ADA compliance for all ticketed events. Serve as prime contact with TicketMaster regarding events and system maintenance and providing on-site system administration for all aspects of TicketMaster software and hardware. Report and follow up on any ticketing equipment repair issues. Prepare, process and store all Live Event financial reporting and Cinema event reporting in conjunction with the Finance and Marketing Departments. Assist the Development Department in providing service to Carolina Theatre donors, and processing Sustaining Memberships on a monthly basis. Generate show audits, method of payment forms and other post-show reports needed for show settlement and record-keeping. Other duties as assigned. Additional Salary Information: This full-time, exempt management position includes health, dental, disability, and life insurance benefits and a generous PTO program. Pay range is dependent on experience.
