The Music Technical Assistant provides general broad support for the instrumental and vocal music program. Areas of responsibility include coordinating A/V needs for department events (providing sound and recording), managing musical instrument collection, equipment, facilities, budget, and interfacing with students. The Technical Assistant also provides logistical support for music tours, and for Applied Music Associates.
Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience. • Knowledge of musical instruments, including storage and maintenance • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong work ethic. • Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks and shift between work duties seamlessly. • Strong written and oral communication skills. • Ability to work with students in a supervisory capacity. • Values diversity, equity and inclusion
