The Division of Student Life:
The Division of Student Life is comprised of approximately 400 staff members that serve our students through 19 departments and functions. Staff are actively engaged in the lives of our students, living and learning with them in our residence halls, student union, and other campus environments. The Division seeks candidates willing to engage, challenge, and support our students through intentional programs and services. In addition, we seek colleagues that are committed to teamwork and have a palpable passion for working with and serving all students.
The Center for Health Education & Wellness (CHEW) empowers all Volunteers to thrive by cultivating personal and community well-being. CHEW aims to fulfill this mission by helping the UT community prioritize holistic wellness.
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Center, the primary purpose of the position is to increase and support the health and safety of UTK community by planning and implementing campus-wide interpersonal outreach initiatives through multiple platforms including campus-wide campaigns, presentations, programs, trainings, and sexual assault prevention awareness and education events.
Manage, plan, and implement theory-based and evidence-informed health promotion strategies, programs, and services for the University in areas such as healthy relationships, communication, active bystander skills training, and consent; review research data, guidelines, and campus policy to ensure prevention education is in alignment with national trends.
Create and sustain partnerships with department units and student groups both within the Division of Student Life and Academic Affairs with the goal of engaging various diverse communities of students.
Manage interpersonal social media content by developing monthly social media plans, creating and posting images, and monitoring, moderating and responding to audience comments.
Train interpersonal wellness health educators to enhance, promote, and expand interpersonal wellness; research grant opportunities and carry out funds awarded to support consent education.
