Supervise and manage all projection facilities for the School including, but no limited to current and future film, tape and disc venues. Supervise and manage the film rental process for all classes and events. Supervise and develop the School's archives. This position reports to the Head of Production Administrator (HoPA).
POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise all theaters in the School including, but not limited to the scheduling and maintenance of theater/projection facilities.
Train, schedule and supervise all projectionists.
Supervise the maintenance and repair of all current and future projection equipment.
Supervise and manage the rental, deliver and return of all rented and borrowed films, videos, discs and other materials for use in the theaters.
Stay current in the technological developments in media display and distribution.
Develop, supervise and manage the School's Archive. Collect and catalog material and schedule the use of archived materials.
Oversee the storage and protection of archived material.
Assist HoPA in developing budgets for all projection services in the School. Be responsible for operating department within budget.
Represent LMU within motion picture and television community and at professional organizations or associations, serve on committees as required.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested by HoPA.
Typically a Bachelors degree or equivalent technical knowledge and professional experience in film production. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills and abilities to keep abreast of technological changes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS (IF APPLICABLE):
Constantly required to sit, feel, use finger movement, speak clearly, hear conversation, see near and far. Frequently required to stand and walk. Occasionally required to lift, carry and push up to 25 lbs., stoop, kneel, reach high and low, use depth perception.
