St. David’s School in Raleigh, NC seeks an enthusiastic and caring Lower School Music Teacher to teach general music classes for lower school students, beginning August 2021. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Lower School faculty and whole-school Fine Arts faculty and will possess an excellent understanding of teaching toward a healthy and beautiful singing voice for young children.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach general music to lower school students
Utilize high quality music literature from a wide variety of styles, genres, and eras
Plan, rehearse, and direct students for concert performances throughout school year
Teach sacred music for chapel services and school assemblies
Differentiate music curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and student body.
Communicate clearly with parents and school faculty on the progress of individual students
Contribute to the vision and curriculum of the music program and fine arts department
A minimum of three years teaching experience and familiarity with current pedagogical and developmental instructional methods are preferred,
Qualified candidates will possess an undergraduate or graduate degree in music education, strong musicianship, and experience teaching music in elementary and PreK classroom settings,
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, the ability to work well with colleagues, and the capacity to support, nurture and inspire students with a love of the arts.
Master’s degree in music or education,
Knowledge of student data analysis.
