The Syracuse University Department of Drama seeks to hire up to two Visiting Assistant Teaching Professors for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. Primary expertise should be in acting; expertise in directing and/or musical theater performance is also desirable. The department seeks candidates whose personal and professional experience, teaching, and creative activity contribute to the advancement of equity, aesthetic diversity, and cultural wealth. Successful candidates will enhance the department's capacity both to honor and to cultivate the contributions of those communities that have historically been under-represented or underserved in theater training and/or the theatrical profession. These positions will consist of teaching a variety of performance courses and possibly directing student productions, as assigned by the Chair and based upon expertise. These are one-semester, leave-replacement positions beginning in August 2021 and January 2022, respectively. One candidate might be appointed to both positions, based on expertise and availability.
