Dana Hall School seeks an experienced, part-time Technical Theatre Director for the Performing Arts Department beginning in the fall of 2021. Responsibilities will include teaching a workshop-style class in both the Upper and Middle School on technical theatre skills, including practical shop work and set, lighting, projection, sound, and costume design. This faculty member should demonstrate proficient ability and skill as a Lighting and Sound Designer. This faculty member also works with students after school in preparation for co-curricular productions in the Middle and Upper School. The position oversees the technical and design aspects of several major public performances per year, including dance, theatre, and choral music events.

The ideal candidate will possess most or all of the following qualifications:
Proven excellence in theatre production, preferably in both professional and school settings
Depth of knowledge of contemporary theatre and ability to distill concepts for young artists
Experience teaching a range of ages of students in workshop formats
Strong capability for logistics, problem solving, and calendaring
Familiarity with the tools, safety, and procedures involved in building and installing scenery and stage lighting, particularly ETC Element Lighting Console, QLab, and digital mixing consoles
Certification in operation of a Genie Lift
Ability to lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs. repeatedly
