Stone Ridge is seeking a Part-Time Middle School Percussion Teacher to begin August 16, 2021.
The Middle School Percussion Teacher is responsible for teaching classes in support of the Middle School Music and Performing Arts Programing, and leading ensembles and associated activities outside the specific requirements of the curriculum and in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education. The Middle School Percussion Teacher will oversee the piano inventory and organize tunings and maintenance as required. S/he will meet regularly with campus ministers to plan music for all middle school liturgies, will provide musical support at assemblies and liturgies as requested, and will hire professional musicians for concerts and productions as required. In addition, s/he will teach all percussion classes as directed by division heads and the Performing Arts Chair.
In addition, as requested, s/he will construct and submit outlines and course descriptions, meet with school personnel, assist students who need support or enrichment and prepare students for events and concerts. S/he will maintain communication with parents, complete progress and interim reports, issue reports cards and perform any necessary communication via email or phone calls.
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
Teaching experience or experience working with children
Strong oral and written communication skills
Piano proficiency and accompaniment skills
Proficiency with educational technology as it applies to teaching and learning.
Strong organizational skills
Candidates with a master’s degree desired, but not required. Compensation includes salary commensurate with experience.
