The Assistant Director - Producing & Residency oversees the planning, advance, and execution of performances and residencies by visiting professional artists for Georgia Tech Arts. Over the coming years, this will include not only performing arts, but multimedia installations, site-specific works and other intersections of art & technology.
The position will collaborate closely with the Director of Georgia Tech Arts to program an innovative series of experiences that align with the new Georgia Tech Strategic Plan, which emphasizes integrating the arts into the academic work of the Institute as well as facilitating access to the visual and performing arts to enhance campus well-being.
The Assistant Director will collaborate with faculty, students, and the GT Arts staff to maximize the artistic and academic impact of performances, installations and residencies.
Ability to coordinate with staff to manage the technical and event production within the Office of the Arts.
Ability to develop itinerary and manage advance work for artist visits to campus.
Ability to engage with the local community to develop ongoing relationships. Research, initiate and carry out community outreach programming.
Comfort managing contracts and other financial documents
3-5 years in arts or arts-related field
Knowledge of contracting and insurance requirements
Knowledge of performance technology

Georgia Tech Arts, part of the Division of Student Life, coordinates the Georgia Tech Arts Series, oversees operation of the recently renovated Ferst Center for the Arts, and works with the Georgia Tech Arts Advisory Board on the strategic direction, collaboration, and promotion of campus arts experiences.
