Cranbrook Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and innovative Strings/Orchestra teacher for the 2021-22 school year. Collaboration within a dynamic PreK-12 Performing Arts Department, commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students, setting a positive tone, and mastery of at least one stringed instrument, are all critical components of this position. The ideal candidate creates and maintains an atmosphere of inclusion where students, teachers, and staff from all backgrounds are welcomed and celebrated in the areas of performing arts. An excellent teacher, conductor, and musician, this full-time member of the Cranbrook community teaches a wide variety of ages including beginning and 2^nd-year strings at the Lower School, Intermediate and Advanced String Ensembles at the Middle School, and an Upper School Orchestra.

In collaboration with the Coordinator of Performing Arts, the Orchestra Director is responsible for leading, directing, and providing artistic vision for the strings curriculum and orchestral performances across all divisions of the school. The Orchestra Director works closely with all performing arts faculty members, the Coordinator of Performing Arts, and other school leadership to ensure strong, cooperative relationships and high artistic standards.
