Classification Title: Instructor College/Division: USC Sumter College/Division Department: USC Sumter - Palmetto College Advertised Salary Range: Salary commensurate with education & experience Advertised Job Summary: Instructor of Music (non-tenure track). USC Sumter invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Music to begin August 2021. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is required. The successful candidate should be able to teach introductory music (Music 110) and other Music classes as needed. The teaching load will be twelve contact hours per semester, on/off campus; possible evening and online classes. Student advising, mentoring and participation on campus committees are expected. Review of credentials will begin March 2021 and will continue until the position is filled. USC Sumter is part of USC's Palmetto College (http://www.sc.edu/palmettocollege/), which involves offering four-year degrees through multiple forms of course delivery and learning, such as two-way video delivery (videoconferencing) and online learning (Blackboard or similar course management system). Qualified candidates should demonstrate a commitment to distance, online, and traditional learning environments. Advertised Minimum Qualifications : A Master's degree in Music with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Music is required at the time of appointment. Applicants with PhDs encouraged to apply.
