The Business Services Coordinator position, with a team of student workers, provides a high level of administrative and financial support to the faculty and majors in the Fine and Performing Arts Academic Unit. The programs include Art, Art Education, Music, Music Education, Theatre, and Dance. There are approximately 18 full time faculty and 32 part-time faculty included across the programs. The programs are housed in two adjacent buildings on campus. The Business Services Coordinator will facilitate office space and office hours in both buildings. The position requires a highly organized individual who has the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to manage and maintain several departmental systems, and apply good judgment and initiative to independently solving problems. The individual is also able to train and delegate projects to others and demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, administrative, organizational, and technical skills. Lastly, the position requires a highly proficient person with intermediate to advanced computer and technical skills, as well as a person who has well developed written and oral communication skills, and solid interpersonal skills for building and maintaining positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external stakeholders.
* High school graduation and seven years of related experience involving duties of increasing responsibility requiring discretion and independent judgment, or Associateâs Degree and five years of related experience, or a combination of higher education and related experience equal to seven years. * Advanced computer skills, including complex word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, database management, use of search engines, and other software applications as required by hiring department/unit. * Effective written and oral communication skills. * Supervisory skills. * Experience in public relations, office supervision, grant-funded programs, marketing, telecommunications or publications as specified by department. * Organizational skills. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public.
