Job Title: Assistant/Associate/Professor of Political Science Job Family: Furman Faculty Full-Time/Part-Time: Full time Compensation Grade: FAC Pay Type: Salary Department: Politics and International Affairs Job Summary: The Department of Politics and International Affairs at Furman University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Political Thought at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to begin in the fall of 2021. The candidate's teaching responsibilities will include Introduction to Political Thought and upper-level Political Thought courses. The position is open to all specialties in Political Thought, and the ideal candidate should complement the department's existing strengths in that subfield and other areas of political science. The candidate must demonstrate the potential for superb teaching, including the ability to work with a diverse population of students, and excellence in scholarship. The teaching load is five courses per academic year. A Ph.D. is required by August 1, 2021. Greenville is 2.5 hours from Atlanta and only one hour from Asheville, North Carolina. It is an ideal place to live and work.
