Assistant Professor, Artist/Performer of Oboe

Classification Title: Assistant Professor College/Division: School of Music Department: Music School Advertised Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience Advertised Job Summary: The Assistant Professor, Oboe, will teach undergraduate and graduate applied oboe students, coach chamber music, and organize weekly School of Music undergraduate student recital class. Maintain a high level of professional visibility at regional, national and international levels. Recruit students for undergraduate and graduate programs. Other duties may include teaching in the areas of entrepreneurship, music advocacy, music industry studies, or musician wellness, depending upon the candidate's areas of interest. Advertised Minimum Qualifications : An earned doctorate in music is preferred; an earned master’s degree in music or equivalent professional experience is required. Candidates should have an established record of teaching and demonstrate excellence as a performer. Primary consideration will be given to candidates with a successful record of recruitment and teaching oboe at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Preference will be given to a candidate who demonstrates previous experience and/or potential for innovative instruction in oboe to meet the needs of the 21st-century oboist.
