Treasure Coast High School is seeking a Band Director. The TCHS Band is among the most active and outstanding groups in the school and community.
The following performing ensembles were active, successful, and vibrant groups, Pre-Covid:
MARCHING BAND The marching band is composed of all members of Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Winds, Concert Band and the Color Guard. The marching band is a musical unit organized to provide education and entertainment for football games, pep rallies, band festivals, parades and concerts. This group is an important part of the instrumental music education program at Treasure Coast High School.
The Marching Band rehearses after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the marching season. A detailed schedule of rehearsals, events, and activities will be posted in Charms.
All students enrolled in band are a part of the marching band.
SYMPHONIC BANDS The Symphonic Bands are the core of the Treasure Coast High School Band Program. The Symphonic Bands are comprised of all brass, woodwind, and percussion players in the band program. The Symphonic Bands are curricular classes that meet outside of the school day as needed and perform at several concerts and festivals each year. After football season, one afternoon rehearsal per week is required. Freshmen band members, beginners, and students wishing to learn a second instrument comprise the Freshman Honor Band. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are audition in the prior year for placement into Symphonic Band 1 or 2. Audition material is posted on the band website following Concert MPA.
JAZZ BAND The Jazz Band is open to all members of the band program, by audition. Instruction in jazz idioms and literature of the twentieth century are studied. The Jazz Band is an advanced ensemble class that may require rehearsals and performances beyond the school day. See the calendar for specific rehearsal dates/times. Jazz Band instrumentation is comprised of: trumpet, trombone, sax, piano, bass, guitar, and percussion. All members of the jazz band must be enrolled in a Symphonic Band or percussion class at TCHS. All students in Jazz Band must audition on the instrument they wish to play in Jazz Band.
COLOR GUARD (AUXILIARY) Membership in the Titan Guard is by audition only. In addition to being a curricular class, the guard is an integral part of the Marching Band and performs with the marching band throughout the year. After the Marching Band season, the Guard explores indoor equipment and rill skills and participates in apriority to exhibitions and assessments.
St. Lucie Public Schools is currently teaching students in live and virtual formats.
Additional Salary Information: Experience Credit:
Up to 28 years verified, full-time, accredited, K-12 years of instructional experience shall be recognized for salary credit. To receive experience credit, employees must submit a Verification of Experience Form (PER0007) within 60 working days of employment to be reviewed by the Human Resources Department for salary credit to be awarded for the current school year. Verifications received after this deadline will be applied in the school term following receipt.
Advanced Degree Supplements:
F.S. 1012.22 (1)(c)3 For instructional personnel hired on or after July 1, 2011, credit for the advanced degree held must be in the individual's area of certification and paid as a salary supplement.
Masters Degree: $3,000/year
Double Masters: $5,200/year
Specialist Degree: $5,200/year
Doctorate Degree: $6,200/year
