The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra (WSO) has an immediate vacancy for Executive Director. The Board of Directors seeks a dynamic leader with strategic leadership skills as well as experience in effective management of operations.
The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day management, supervision of staff, and operation of the WSO under the direction of the Board President. The successful candidate will be a leader who can plan, coordinate, and assure implementation of strategies. These will include developing donors and contributions to support the organization, promoting the growth and public image of the WSO, and developing and implementing administrative and personnel planning to ensure the long-term success of the organization.
The Candidate must provide evidence of understanding and interpreting nonprofit finances and shall bring an entrepreneurial approach to marketing and communication strategies that maximize earned revenue. The Executive Director is expected to attend as many events of the WSO as possible, including concerts, fundraising or any other event that support the WSO.
Prospective candidates will have applicable levels of experience and education with 5 years functioning in the field, an understanding of the complex nature of the arts, and a passion for orchestral music. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution is highly preferred.
