The lead music teacher will help plan and develop an engaging and rich music program that includes percussions, stringed instruments, and choir. The music director is responsible for 2-3 all school performances a year along with providing individual string instrument instruction after school as part of a full-time position. Our music teacher must also be able to deliver a rich remote music program should we need to move to distance learning. At Daycroft we have a close-knit community where teachers help one another, partner with one another, and support one another in helping our students.
Create an engaging learning environment that fosters student interest and love of music.
Deliver differentiated lessons to meet students in their learning process.
Work collaboratively with our classroom teachers to build upon classroom themes in culture and history.
Give written comments on each student’s progress every semester.
Attend faculty meetings and participate in lunch recess activities.
Experience and Professional Competencies
Experience in teaching elementary students– a minimum of 3 years is preferred
A bachelor’s degree in Music Education
Prior successful elementary music teaching experience
A Michigan Teacher Certification is preferred
