The Videographer and Web Editor creates web content, videos and multimedia assets that support admissions, advancement and branding priorities. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Communications, the Videographer and Web Editor works closely with the entire Marketing and Communications teams to generate creative solutions, write copy and scripts, produce and edit videos, and create/update webpages and other digital media that measurably propel the Colleges’ reputation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops, writes scripts, films and edits videos to support institutional branding, advancement and admissions. • Provides backup photography services on an as-needed basis. • Keeps up to date on new technology in videography and digital communications. • Maintains YouTube Channel and online video content to standards, and maintains BMI music reports • Develops, writes and edits content on the HWS website, including creating and maintaining an editorial calendar. • Manages the creation and maintenance of academic department pages. • Cultivates productive relationships with key HWS stakeholders – administrators, faculty, staff and students – and acts as a resource to the community for Web-related content issues. • Participates in weekly meetings with admissions and advancement, managing a workload of priorities for each. Possesses an understanding of the market dynamics of enrollment and fundraising, or willing to learn.
• A bachelor’s degree required. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Highly organized and able to manage priorities on deadline and in a fast-paced environment. • Has a clear sense of public relations judgment and professionalism. • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Word Press and Internet technologies and tools, or willingness to learn. • Knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop). • Enthusiasm for exploring and learning about emerging technologies and platforms. • Sense of humor and strong interpersonal skills a must. • Must be able to work independently.
