Under the direction of the Director of K-12 Curriculum and Instruction, the Coordinator of K-12 Curriculum and Instruction, assists in the coordination of the instructional program in grades K-12; provides support in staff development activities and assists in the coordination and implementation of policies, practices, regulations, guidelines and procedures pertaining to teaching and learning; coordinates the functions and activities of the instructional program; supports the adoption and implementation of standards and framework aligned instructional materials and performs other related functions as directed.
Coordinate district-wide CCSS curricula, assessments and programs to support responsive teaching and learning.
Supports the implementation and evaluation of the K-12 mathematics, ELA/ELD, science and History- Social Studies program.
Collaboratively supports instructional leadership, technical assistance, standards-based and results-driven professional development for responsive teaching and learning.
Work closely with site administration to ensure the best instructional practices are being used in all classrooms.
Coordinate, organize and support District-level instructional material and textbook selection and use
Coordinate support on strategies, methods, and materials that enhance student learning and understanding.
Coordinate activities to ensure that curricula and academic programs are designed, appropriately implemented, evaluated and refined.
Remain up to date on curriculum and instruction current issues and trends through research, training and practice.
Coordinate and disseminate timely information, clarify initiatives and demonstrate effective K12 instruction practices.
Provide support and consultation to the schools in the design and most effective the use of instructional time
Coordinates, organizes, and supports the K-6 Music, Science and PE programs and specialists.
Evaluates certificated and classified staff as assigned.

Appropriate California Administrative Services Credential.
Credential: California teaching credential that authorizes elementary and/or secondary instruction with appropriate EL authorization.
Master Degree, including all courses needed to meet all credentialing requirements.
Demonstrated five (5) years of successful teaching experience
Successful service as a principal with at least three (3) years of experience.
Possess strong leadership and facilitation skills.
Effective communication skills: listening, speaking, written
Ability to build trust and work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, parents and other staff
