Podcast News Producer This is a full-time – 2 year position.
Georgia Public Broadcasting is looking for a Podcast News Producer for our “Georgia Today” podcast. The podcast news producer will be a part of a new journalism initiative that focuses on digital newsgathering and content along with live radio coverage from the GPB Newsroom and NPR. GPB is increasing coverage of public policy and the impact of those policies on citizens throughout the state of Georgia. The podcast news producer through the use of interviews, soundbites, and music, will unpack compelling and topical stories of interest throughout Georgia for our statewide audience. The ideal candidate will be eager to introduce new voices to the format and understand that this job demands a strong sense of storytelling. The podcast news producer must know how to craft a story that demonstrates a strong sense of beginning, middle, and end; and will collaborate with the host, other producers, and the Vice President of News to identify podcast topics and guests. This is a two year grant funded position and is based in Atlanta, Georgia. GPB is a top-10 radio market station.
Candidate Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. • Must have at least five years’ experience in radio production and a seasoned journalist. • Demonstrated ability to craft stores that demonstrate a strong beginning, middle and end. • Must be able to edit and gather quality sound using Adobe Sound/Adobe Audition. • Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, juggle multiple tasks and multiple deadlines. • Must be comfortable working under tight deadlines.
