The Music Department at Central Washington University (Ellensburg, WA) invites applications for a full-time, visiting assistant professor of applied piano to begin September, 2020. The department seeks to hire an outstanding educator to teach a broad range of classes in the department which may include piano literature, piano pedagogy, chamber music and accompanying as well as engage in activity as a soloist and/or collaborative performer.
Earned Doctorate in piano (ABD will be considered)
Experience in teaching applied piano, solo and collaborative playing
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Evidence of commitment to diversity by recognizing its inherent value and by fostering learning environments that support and embrace diversity
Potential for, or evidence of success in student recruitment and retention
Record of professional performing experience as a collaborative and solo performer with possible additional experience in accompanying, vocal coaching, jazz, improvisation, early music, song writing and/or composition
