Berwick Academy seeks a guitar ensemble teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. This is a part-time position that includes teaching guitar ensemble classes in our Middle School (grades 5 through 8.) This teacher will be a member of the Performing Arts Department and will report to the Director of Visual and Performing Arts. Ideal candidates have experience in music education, an understanding of the unique developmental needs of Middle School students, and an interest in collaborating with colleagues. Strong time management and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The position requires an organized, flexible and creative approach to working with students and parents. Responsibilities include:
--Teaching 5th and 6th grade guitar ensemble classes and 7th and 8th grade guitar ensemble classes;
--Participating, as a member of the Performing Arts Department in annual concerts and recitals;
--Sharing responsibility with other faculty in departmental administrative duties such as supervising students in field trips or rehearsing their own work;
--Attending department meetings.
