The Meadowbrook School of Weston, a pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school located in Weston, MA, seven miles west of Boston, a part-time music instructor. A successful candidate will be a music educator who is innovative, student-centered, and experienced arranging music. This music educator will instructor teach the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade instrumental ensemble art courses. The composition of student ensembles is student-driven and ranges from classical chamber music to contemporary hits. A typical school year involves instructing six contemporary music bands, one chamber ensemble, and one jazz band. Students in contemporary bands range from beginners to accomplished musicians. Courses meet four times each week (Monday through Thursday between 1:00 and 3:30) for a quarter and culminate with an in-school performance or showcase.
Candidates should have knowledge of instrumental music education best practices and be able to work with drums, bass, keyboards, guitars, brass, wind, string, percussion, and vocalists.
