Florida Theatre Performing Arts Center, Inc., the nonprofit corporation that manages and programs the historic Florida Theatre in downtown Jacksonville, Florida, seeks an experienced Marketing Director to lead its marketing, advertising and public relations. The 1,900 seat Florida Theatre is consistently ranked as one of the Top 10 most attended theatre venues in the country by Pollstar magazine, and last year was ranked the most attended sports and entertainment venue in the State of Florida by VenuesNow magazine.
The Florida Theatre serves the 12th largest city in America, and the greater Northeast Florida and Southern Georgia region. The theatre self-promotes 75-100 music, dance, theatre, arts education and film programs annually; co-promotes 30-40 more; and hosts about 50 local events. The Marketing Director supervises a $700,000 annual budget for print, direct mail, broadcast, digital and street activities, not including personnel, and supervises two full time staff members, a Graphic Designer, and a Social Media Manager. In addition to supporting programming, the marketing department also supports the fundraising efforts of the development department.
This is a Senior Staff position reporting to the President, and is a full-time position classified as exempt. It is a hands-on position; occasional nights and weekends are required.
