The Director of Advancement is responsible for developing, managing and administering vertical dance company BANDALOOP’s contributed income with a special focus on Bay Area funding from foundations, sponsorships and major donors. The Director of Advancement will implement a multi-level plan that will include managing a new and growing major donor circle, a burgeoning corporate sponsorship plan anchored in a vibrant open-residency program, an annual gala plus annual open-house events, as well as managing an existing strong foundation pipeline. The Director of Advancement will strengthen and diversify BANDALOOP’s local Bay Area funding to support increased Bay Area activity. This position will lead a team of staff and contractors collectively responsible for raising local awareness about the company, and gaining increased support and strength for its education curriculum, the open residencies program and the growing #LookUpOakland broader public performance and home season campaigns that bring vertical dance to local audiences.
Experience working collaboratively with artists & artist managers to elevate their work;
Superior oral and written communications skills; grammar, composition, spelling, business correspondence formats, telephone etiquette, organized contact management;
Experience providing direct supervision over event staff or grant writing teams;
Flexibility (ability to engage at odd hours, attend events and performances + meetings);
Confidentiality (specifically of donor information);
Self-directed – can work with minimal supervision on high-level long-term engagement projects;
Proficiency with digital devices, database management and online digital social media platforms;
Willingness to work from home and / or the BANDALOOP Studio as well as travel throughout the Bay Area for meetings and events;
Commitment to Public Art, equity, and the BANDALOOP vision, mission and program goals;
Experience completing foundation grant applications and executing on RFP’s.
Additional Salary Information: In the range of $40 per hour.
