Candidates for this position MUST HAVE at least 1-3 years’ experience in live entertainment or film producing.
Job Purpose: To support the Backlot Project team Producers in reaching development goals by implementing research, development, planning and maintenance for prospective and existing properties, and serving as the primary point of contact on the producing team for assigned properties.
Assist in new artist lead generation processes.
Conduct routine research on trends relating to The Backlot Project and potential opportunities.
Manage and implement the Internal Staff Lead Suggestion Process.
Research and evaluate prospective development opportunities according to our Development Research Process.
Generate proposals for new property opportunities.
Participate in content partner meetings, recording notes and serving as a hub of communication in the setting and follow-up of these meetings.
Represent the Company and Producer in the pre-production process facilitating creative notes and ensuring the successful development of the property.
Create and maintain property development timelines, sample engagement budgets, production budgets and operating budgets.
Create and maintain property on-boarding documents and participate (or lead, as assigned) property on-boarding meetings.
Coordinate the day-to-day development of projects by overseeing property development tracking project status and related reporting to the Producers and content partners.
Research, negotiate with, and engage vendors, partners, and creative contributors.
Develop and maintain offer templates for each touring property in line with established standards.
Oversee and guide routing of the tour.
Create city lists using the City Selection Process
Create and update Avails Grids according to the Tour Planning System, and actively manage venue and artist holds.
Oversee creation of Engagement Budgets according to the Tour Planning System.
Execute the Engagement Confirmation Checklist as requested.
Track and manage standard expense line items for engagement settlements.
Manage the day to day financial business strategy of each touring property
Manage ticket inventory for assigned properties and engagements, including monitoring sales, available inventory and holds, activating dynamic pricing and analyzing data to maximize revenue and sales.
Prepare property reports as needed.
Review sales data and advise Producers and Agents of opportunities for additional performance, repeat engagements, routing opportunities, etc.
Track financials on an engagement and property level, reviewing and approving expenses within existing budgets.
Review all show reports and inform Producer of relevant exceptions and developments.
Participate in weekly Staff Meetings and Development Department meetings and report on relevant activities.
Participate in developing systems, processes and training related to the work in the position.
Must be able to travel globally, as needed.
Any other work in related areas as requested by the Manager.
A bachelors or advanced degree (major in Film, Theater, Performing Arts, or related degree).
1-3 years' live entertainment or film producing experience.
Prior experience with the creative and financial development of live productions.
Extremely organized and able to manage multiple priorities applying project management work methods, working autonomously in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Precision of writing and grammar with excellent attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in English required, additional languages helpful
Proficient in MS Office products as well as Google Docs
Prior experience with Sugar or Salesforce systems helpful
