The Momentary is a new Center for Contemporary Visual and Performing Arts and Culinary Discovery in Bentonville, AR, slated to open 02/22/2020. The Center will operate as a subsidiary of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The Lighting Technician will work directly with the Production Manager and Audio Visual Technician to support of the planning, preparation and execution of lighting, projection and rigging components necessary for the successful production of performance seasons, festivals and special projects at the Momentary or other venues including Crystal Bridges, as required; installing, maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting the venue’s lighting and rigging equipment.
The Lighting Technician will support the budgeting and contracting phases of projects by advising on the capacity of the facility’s inventory, providing a working knowledge of the cost to procure any requested equipment which may not be in stock at the facility. The Lighting Technician will provide lighting and rigging support to the staff and artists throughout the Momentary. The Lighting Technician will facilitate the wide variety of lighting and rigging needs required to support or produce the many performing arts offerings and events that will take place at the Momentary.
The ideal Lighting Technician has extensive experience in theatrical, festival, and event lighting and rigging with a passion for lighting technology and contemporary performing arts.
Valid Arkansas drivers’ license.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in an efficient and professional manner.
Ability to lift equipment, and perform physical duties such as loading and unloading equipment from trucks or carts. Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
Ability to interpret technical documents such as riders, stage plots, signal flow diagrams, input lists, and cue lists.
Festivals, Theatrical Premieres, Live Broadcast, and Special Events.
Knowledge and experience working with audio equipment and projectors.
OSHA forklift certificate
Experience with Serapid lift systems or equivalent mechanical floor lifts

Physical demands: Vision and hearing abilities to perform the essential duties as outlined above. Physical abilities required include a good level of fitness and the ability to perform manual labor including the installation and operation of A/V-equipment, theater lighting, cabling and rigging, working from ladders and in elevated positions, and working in indoor and outdoor performing areas.
Work Environment: Work will be performed in a theater and concert hall environment, museum and other performance spaces, and in communities served. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate, with the exception of concert performances. Position might require some independent overnight travel for touring of national and international coproductions and other travel as necessary to fulfill responsibilities of the position.
