UCSB Arts & Lectures is searching for a dynamic fundraising professional to oversee all fundraising operations at the largest performing arts program on California’s Central Coast. Working in partnership with the Arts & Lectures Executive Director, the Senior Director of Development position is a critical leadership role at Arts & Lectures and represents the program to high-net wealth individuals in a community that has a long tradition of philanthropy in the arts. This position is responsible for meeting annual fundraising goals of $3-4M+ and identifying, cultivating and stewarding donors through meaningful arts experiences. It also manages a successful development team including a Director of Development (major gifts), Associate Director of Development (memberships), Stewardship/VIP Concierge, and Development Analyst. The ideal candidate must have a successful track record developing and implementing fundraising strategies and maintaining relationships with various types of donors, including local and national foundations, corporate decision-makers and individual patrons. The position requires a strong team leader, a self-starter who is organized and goal-oriented, passionate about the performing arts and the world of ideas, and skilled at creating cultural pathways for giving. Given Arts & Lectures’ position as a leading cultural institution in the region, the Senior Director of Development will connect with civic leaders, key philanthropists and University leadership.
The Senior Director of Development is a key member of the A&L senior management team and the University’s Development team. The University’s Development resources include access to data management and research tools, collaboration with top fundraising professionals, and ongoing training and professional development opportunities. The Arts & Lectures program is a fun, fast-paced organization with a reputation for excellence in the arts. Because the great majority of Arts & Lectures’ contributors attend A&L’s many public performances and lectures, the A&L Development team has extraordinary opportunities for frequent personal contact with contributors at public events and the many social activities affiliated with those performances and lectures.

UCSB Art & Lectures is one of the premier University-based performing arts programs in the US and a driving force in the national performing arts scene.
