Reporting to Chief Development Officer Elizabeth Hurley, the Vice President for Principal Gifts will be charged with envisioning, establishing, and growing a principal gifts program and will lead a team of five focused on all aspects of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for this pool of prospects.
Lyric Opera of Chicago is embarking on an ambitious 10-year plan to increase annual fundraising and raise significant endowment and capital funds to ensure the future of the company. To do this, Lyric needs to increase the engagement of its top tier donors and prospects rated as capable of making a gift of $1 million plus. The addition of a Vice President for Principal Gifts to the senior staff in the Development department is an important step in creating the necessary infrastructure to meet the long-term needs of the organization. The Vice President for Principal Gifts will also play a critical role in evolving the culture of the department to one that embraces change and innovation with an ambitious improvement mindset.
