The Florentine Opera Company is Wisconsin’s oldest fully professional performing arts organization and the sixth-oldest opera company in the United States. The Florentine season includes up to three mainstage productions (where the Milwaukee Symphony orchestra has primarily served as its orchestra) and six second stage offerings in venues ranging from the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts to its own Wayne and Kristine Lueders Florentine Opera Center--alongside over a hundred community engagement and education performances. The company considers all of Milwaukee its stage and now serves more people in the community than it does in its major performance hall.
