The Director of KU Presents! manages the total operation of KU Presents! performing arts program at Kutztown University. He/She is responsible for planning, coordinating and promoting the performing arts program, outreach programming to community and youth groups, and all new events and programs. Work involves identifying, coordinating, contracting and tactfully negotiating with professional talent for KU Presents! and other University presenting entities; collaborates with campus constituents designing new performance opportunities and creating partnerships; assists in the development and management of KU’s Visual and Performing Arts Society, event planning and fundraising; works in conjunction with University Relations and University Marketing to coordinate and facilitate the publicity and marketing of all events and printed promotional materials; actively seeks additional sources of funding for the KU Presents! programs, including generating earned income, sponsorships, gifts and grants; managing grants by meeting all grant requirements including completing grant reports; prepares, administers and monitors annual budget, reviewing it weekly with AVP; personally cultivates and works with all performing arts program sponsors, subscribers, donors, and patrons; works cooperatively with other campus partners to develop policies and procedures, and maintenance and management of Schaeffer Auditorium.
Employee supervises professional and technical staff engaged in performing arts program and manages the box office as well as all “Front of House” staff. Work is under the supervision of Associate Vice-President Communications, Marketing and External Affairs.
Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, one of the performing arts, business or equivalent full-time professional experience;
Five years’ experience managing a performing arts center including contract negotiations with artists; fundraising; membership development; corporate sponsorships; marketing and public relations; budget planning, development and control; public agency grant administration;
